This trend breaks away from the traditional use of eyeshadow as a solid, opaque application. A cream or liquid eyeshadow is gently tapped and diffused with fingers or a wide brush, then a translucent pastel powder is layered on top to add depth.
Vogue Scandinavia (2026) described this look as 'makeup that allows for artistic imperfection.' Naturally diffused edges, rather than perfect lines, actually elevate the final result.

Baby Blue: A clear, cool sky-blue tone that suits fair to medium skin tones best. Paired with highlighter, it makes the eye area look even more defined.
Lilac: Soft purple is the most versatile colour in 2026 spring eye makeup. Cosmopolitan reported that regardless of skin shade, lilac creates a vibrant and dreamy-looking eye.
Soft Pink: When matched with blush colour, it creates a perfect monochromatic look, evoking a romantic and tender spring atmosphere.
Important tip: Cosmopolitan (2026) advises that for deeper skin tones, liquid or cream formulas, or shimmer pastel eyeshadows, improve colour payoff.
